Doris was born in Peoria, Illinois on April 21, 1938. Her parents are Sarah F. and Francis A. Emrick
She has 3 brothers, Steve, Frank, and Howard. She also has 2 sisters, Mary and Phyllis
Doris was married to the late Roy J Farmer from July 5th, 1958 to 1972. Roy is in heaven now with our heavenly Father. Doris's 14 years with this good man was happy. He left a daughter, Debbie.
Doris has been married to Arthur L Hays for 35 years
She has one daughter, Debra R Brown and 3 Stepchildren
Doris has an earned General Educational Development degree
Doris has her Insurance License since 1975
She has a Long Ridge Writing Group Dipolma since 2007
Doris belongs to the Federation of Aspiring Writers
Doris moved from Peoria, Illinois to Mason County in 1982, making her home in the beautiful Sand ridge forest area, not far from the Illinois River
Doris has had a passion for writing short stories and song lyrics since 1992.
Doris believes in God and she follows the commandments of the Bible and she desires to spread God's word through her songs and follow the path He has chosen for her.
